Influence of Off-Axis Noncanonical Vortex on the Dynamics of Energy Flux

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In this article, we analyze the impact of the off-axis noncanonical vortex on the dynamics of 3D energy flux. The results reveal that the properties of energy flux are significantly influenced by the anisotropy parameter σc of the off-axis noncanonical ...

The Characteristics of Land‐Atmospheric Water and Heat Exchange during Soil Freezing‐Thawing Process over the Underlying Surface of the Alpine Grassland in the Source Region of the Yellow River

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang, 2022
The seasonal characteristics of water and heat exchange in the alpine grasslands are significant, and the freezing‐thawing process has an important impact on the land‐atmospheric water and heat exchange.Based on the observation data of the land surface ...

Fluctuations of Energy Flux in Wave Turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2008
We report that the power driving gravity and capillary wave turbulence in a statistically stationary regime displays fluctuations much stronger than its mean value. We show that its probability density function (PDF) has a most probable value close to zero and involves two asymmetric roughly exponential tails.

Power laws and inverse motion modelling: application to turbulence measurements from satellite images

open access: yesTellus: Series A, Dynamic Meteorology and Oceanography, 2012
In the context of tackling the ill-posed inverse problem of motion estimation from image sequences, we propose to introduce prior knowledge on flow regularity given by turbulence statistical models.

Synergistic Effects of Melatonin and Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid on Protection of Photosynthesis System in Response to Multiple Abiotic Stressors

open access: yesCells, 2021
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) and melatonin are endogenous compounds that enhance plant responses to abiotic stresses. The response of Vicia faba to different stressors (salinity (NaCl), poly ethylene glycol (PEG), and sulfur dioxide (SO2)) was studied ...

Satellite Investigation of Semidiurnal Internal Tides in the Sulu-Sulawesi Seas

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
The mode-1 semidiurnal internal tides that emanate from multiple sources in the Sulu-Sulawesi Seas are investigated using multi-satellite altimeter data from 1993–2020.

On the properties of energy flux in wave turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Mechanics, 2022
We study the properties of energy flux in wave turbulence via the Majda–McLaughlin– Tabak (MMT) equation with a quadratic dispersion relation. One of our purposes is to resolve the inter-scale energy flux $P$ in the stationary state to elucidate its distribution and scaling with spectral level. More importantly, we perform a

Solar radiation energy pulsations in a plant leaf

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Engineering and Landscape Management, 2010
Solar radiation energy is used by vegetation, which predetermines the existence of biosphere. The plant uses 1–2% of the absorbed radiant energy for photosynthesis.

Neoclassical Navier–Stokes Equations Considering the Gyftopoulos–Beretta Exposition of Thermodynamics

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The seminal Navier–Stokes equations were stated even before the creation of the foundations of thermodynamics and its first and second laws. There is a widespread opinion in the literature on thermodynamic cycles that the Navier–Stokes equations cannot ...

Evaluation of CMIP6 Global Climate Models for Simulating Land Surface Energy and Water Fluxes During 1979–2014

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, 2021
This study examined the overall performance of the climate models in Phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP6) in simulating the key energy and water fluxes over land.
