Modeling a Wave Energy Harvester for Supplying Data Buoys

open access: yesApplied Sciences
An energy harvester scavenging the kinetic energy of fluctuating waves for supplying small sea monitoring buoys is studied and tested. The harvester exploits a magnetic cylinder that rolls on a track due to the pitching motion of the buoy.

Research on energy acquisition technology based on one-dimensional acoustic black hole effect

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
In this paper, a piezoelectric energy harvester based on periodic one-dimensional acoustic black holes (ABH) is proposed to improve efficiency. The harvesting performance of the energy harvester with different ABH-structures was numerically simulated ...

Accelerated simulation of tunable vibration energy harvesting systems using a linearised state-space technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes a linearised state-space technique to accelerate the simulation of tunable vibration energy harvesting systems by at least two orders of magnitude.

A Harvester with a Helix S-Type Vertical Axis to Capture Random Breeze Energy Efficiently

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
Breeze energy is a widely distributed renewable energy source in the natural world, but its efficient exploitation is very difficult. The conventional harvester with fixed arm length (HFA) has a relatively high start-up wind speed owing to its high and ...

Comparative Study of Tapered Shape Bimorph Piezoelectric Energy Harvester via Finite Element Analysis

open access: yesForces in Mechanics, 2022
We report the power efficiency comparison of two tapered shape bimorph piezoelectric energy harvesters. Typically, the rectangular-shaped cantilever bimorph piezoelectric energy harvester is widely used in piezoelectric energy harvesting.

A miniature coupled bistable vibration energy harvester [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper reports the design and test of a miniature coupled bistable vibration energy harvester. Operation of a bistable structure largely depends on vibration amplitude rather than frequency, which makes it very promising for wideband vibration energy
