Development of a biomechanical energy harvester [PDF]
Biomechanical energy harvesting-generating electricity from people during daily activities-is a promising alternative to batteries for powering increasingly sophisticated portable devices. We recently developed a wearable knee-mounted energy harvesting device that generated electricity during human walking. In this methods-focused paper, we explain the

Probe of the excitonic transitions and lifetimes in quasi-2D organic–inorganic halide perovskites
Traditional organic–inorganic halide perovskites (OIHPs), in which perovskites layers are separated by an organic spacer material, have been mainly explored for photovoltaics devices, but they also offer promises for nonlinear optics and quantum light ...

Energy Cooperation in Energy Harvesting Communications [PDF]
In energy harvesting communications, users transmit messages using energy harvested from nature during the course of communication. With an optimum transmit policy, the performance of the system depends only on the energy arrival profiles. In this paper, we introduce the concept of energy cooperation, where a user wirelessly transmits a portion of its ...

Sensitivity control of dopamine detection by conducting poly(thionine)
We investigated conducting poly(thionine) (PTH) films prepared by single-step and double-step electrochemical methods (PTH-S and PTH-D, respectively) on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the detection of dopamine (DA) with varying ...

Self-contracting, battery-free triboelectric wound healing strip with strong wet adhesion
Conventional wound closure techniques, such as suturing and stapling, often cause infection, delayed healing, and tissue damage, particularly in fragile or compromised tissues.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
