This study explores the mechanical performance of three auxetic structures, identifying a re‐entrant‐star hybrid as the most effective for impact absorption. Finite element simulations and experiments demonstrate significant gains in energy absorption and flexural strength after geometric optimization. This study investigates the mechanical performance

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

EXPLOSIVE SENSITIVITY OF PETN-ALUMINUM COMPOSITES TO PULSED LASER RADIATION
Dependences of nanosize aluminum inclusions’ absorptivity on their size for the first and second harmonics of YAG-Nd laser were calculated. The values of the minimal critical energy density for the initiation by the first and second harmonics of YAG-Nd ...
