Analysis of onset of bio-thermal convection in a fluid containing gravitactic microorganisms by the energy method

Zhongguó wùli xuékan, 2018
The bio-thermal convection in a suspension containing gravitactic microorganisms saturated by a fluid is investigated within the framework of linear and nonlinear stability theory. Energy method is used for nonlinear stability analysis.

gmx_MMPBSA: A New Tool to Perform End-State Free Energy Calculations with GROMACS.

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2021
Molecular mechanics/Poisson-Boltzmann (Generalized-Born) surface area is one of the most popular methods to estimate binding free energies. This method has been proven to balance accuracy and computational efficiency, especially when dealing with large ...

The energy method

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1975
Abstract A new procedure for constructing the solution to conservative, linear, and nonlinear initial value problems is given. Numerical results are given for a linear mechanical oscillator and a nonlinear simple pendulum. The method given does not employ or even require the formulation of differential equations, but is compared to several methods ...

A Risk-Averse Adaptive Stochastic Optimization Method for Transactive Energy Management of a Multi-Energy Microgrid

IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, 2023
This paper proposes a new energy management method for a multi-energy microgrid (MEMG) which supplies both electrical and thermal energies. Based on the transactive energy (TE) concept, the problem is formulated as a Stackelberg game-theoretic bi-level ...

Suitability evaluation system for the shallow geothermal energy implementation in region by Entropy Weight Method and TOPSIS method

Renewable Energy, 2021
Shallow geothermal energy suitability map presents the potential for implementation in a region. The potential for implementation depends on hydrogeology, geotechnical, geology environment, and geothermal characteristics.

Energy Methods in Magnetohydrodynamics

1996
A brief summary of energy methods for linear stability in dissipative magnetohydrodynamics is given. In this case, the methods are equally efficient for fixed and free boundary problems. Linear asymptotic stability has implications in nonlinear stability, at least for a modest but finite level of perturbations.

The Energy Method

1987
For conservative scleronomic systems with finite degrees of freedom it is common to apply the so-called energy method for the assessment of the stability of a particular motion of the system. Very frequently, the particular ‘motion’ is a stationary (equilibrium) position of the system.
