Putting metrics last: A decolonial feminist approach to evaluating energy justice

open access: yesJournal of Political Ecology
Quantitative tools for evaluating energy justice allow users to make quickly comparisons across options. Most of these tools overrepresent distributional justice at the expense of other dimensions that are more difficult to measure (e.g., procedural ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

METRICS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN LOGISTICS OF FREIGHT DISTRIBUTION [PDF]

open access: yesCarpathian Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2016
The paper is a study on the energy efficiency indicators that can be used for the activities in logistics of freight distribution, at the company level, as well as at macroeconomic level.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Metrics for energy performance in operation: the fallacy of single indicators

open access: yesBuildings & Cities, 2020
Many countries and organisations have now endorsed the climate emergency. New and existing buildings must play a big part in tackling this, though past history has been disappointing, e.g.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Research on Effectiveness Evaluation Method of Vehicle Speed Prediction in Predictive Energy Management

open access: yesEnergies
Speed prediction is fundamental to optimizing energy management strategies. Common evaluation metrics such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) focus primarily on the numerical deviation between predicted and actual speeds ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Endocrine markers of energy deficiency and within-day energy balance metrics in elite athletes

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
IntroductionThis cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) among Swedish national-team athletes across multiple sports and to examine selected endocrine and metabolic markers in relation to ...
