A Roofline Model of Energy

2013 IEEE 27th International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing, 2013
We describe an energy-based analogue of the time-based roofline model. We create this model from the perspective of algorithm designers and performance tuners, with the intent not of making exact predictions, but rather, developing highlevel analytic insights into the possible relationships among the time, energy, and power costs of an algorithm.

Energy Model of Neuron Activation

Neural Computation, 2017
On the basis of the neurophysiological strength-duration (amplitude-duration) curve of neuron activation (which relates the threshold amplitude of a rectangular current pulse of neuron activation to the pulse duration), as well as with the use of activation energy constraint (the threshold curve corresponds to the energy threshold of neuron activation

Energy Substitution Modelling

2007
The analysis of substitution among energy sources remains one of the main issues in energy economy and policy. The extent of substitution in energy demand can bring about important changes in energy balance sheets and cause profound changes in energy supply.

The ESRI energy model [PDF]

open access: possible, 2012
In Ireland, the energy sector has undergone significant change in the last forty years. In this period, there has been a significant increase in the demand for energy. This increase has been driven by economic and demographic factors. Although the current deep recession has quelled the upward trend in the demand for energy, a future economic recovery ...

A Holistic Energy Model for Drones

2020 28th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2020
Endurance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in operation is a critical aspect of usability and serviceability; therefore, the energy efficiency must carefully be considered in the UAV system design. In spite of their high potential, electric-powered rotating-wing multi-copters, which are drones, have even scarcer energy resources.

Modular Energy Modeling using Energy/Utility

Companion of the 2018 ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering, 2018
The modeling of the relationship between power usage and performance for complex computing systems is challenging due to the vast amount of tunable parameters that influence both metrics. To simplify the energy management of information systems from individual embedded machines to whole data centers we use a modular, hierarchical concept called Energy ...

Research on the Integration of Energy Economic Model and Urban Energy Model

International Journal of Power and Energy Engineering, 2021
In order to explore the strategy on urban energy and reduction of greenhouse gas, a large number of energy models have been developed by interdisciplinary studies. Mixed patterns are particularly useful as a result that they incorporate more dynamics to simulate the relevant high-level decisions and the provided actual results by building-level factors.
