Energy Partitioning and Modeling in Animal Nutrition

Annual Review of Nutrition, 1995
We first present a brief discussion of early and current models (feeding systems) used to estimate animal energy and protein requirements and to predict performance based on feed composition and intake. We then touch on some limitations inherent in these systems. Next, we propose that dynamic (i.e.

Analysis of Energy Partition in Grinding

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1995
An analysis is presented for the fraction of the energy transported as heat to the workpiece during grinding. The abrasive grains and grinding fluid in the wheel pores are considered as a thermal composite which moves relative to the grinding zone at the wheel speed.

XX.—On Energy Accelerations and Partition of Energy

Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1909
In the volume of the Arch. Néerlandaises for 1900, Dr Bryan discussed the investigation of the distribution of the velocities of a dynamical system for a stationary state from probability considerations. He suggested the method of obtaining expressions for the second differential coefficients with respect to the time of squares and products of ...

Grinding temperatures and energy partitioning

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 1997
In grinding, the heat generated is removed from the area of contact by conduction into the workpiece, conduction into the grinding wheel grains, convection with the material removed and convection to the fluid. The partition ratios in surface grinding were estimated from the measured temperatures using a thermocouple technique.

Energy Partitioning in the Photofragments

1974
For about one century photochemistry has been widely used to produce short lived transients in order to study the physical properties and the chemical reactivities of atoms and molecules in their ground electronic states. For the last ten years, it is the excited states of these transients which are of interest and all the work already done in the U.V.

The partition of energy in a turbulent plasma

Plasma Physics, 1968
A theory is developed which leads to an expression for the partition of energy between mechanical and magnetic modes in a turbulent magnetohydrodynamic system in the presence of a strong external field. Modifications to this expression due to specific plasma effects are obtained and are not significant.

Liquid Partition Function and the Free Energy

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1960
A procedure is proposed, involving a coupling parameter, for the determination of the partition function and free energy of a classical condensed system of particles in terms of the structure of the system (that is, short range order) represented by the pair distribution.

The partition of energy in cosmical physics

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1964
AbstractEddington's energy partition in cosmical physics is discussed and the partition equations are found to have a very simple form. It is shown that the rigid-field convention leads to a triviality.
