Energy Recovery is at the threshold of becoming a key means for the advancement of accelerators. Recycling the kinetic energy of a used beam for accelerating a newly injected beam, i.e. reducing the power consumption, utilising the high injector brightness and dumping at injection energy: these are the key elements of a novel accelerator concept ...

Abstract This article presents a novel design for a superconducting rf electron injector that incorporates energy recovery. This concept relaxes the demands of high power input couplers, improves essential beam parameters and energy efficiency and reduces the overall cost of a compact energy recovery linac machine.

AbstractIncinerators in use, power‐generating incinerators and pollution‐prevention methods in energy recovery from waste incineration are briefly reviewed. Results of a recent energy recovery experiment under real operating conditions are described: The addition of waste plastic to municipal solid waste brought about more stable combustion and no ...

Solid waste management has through the years consisted of collection and disposal. Technological advances have for the most part been in collection equipment design, incinerator efficiency, and landfill operation. In short, the objective has been to “pick it up and put it down,” at the lowest possible cost.
