Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Predictive control of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on Super‐Twisting sliding mode

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2023
To improve the anti‐interference ability and response speed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor control system and the problem of excessive chattering when the speed loop of the system is controlled by fast second‐order Super‐Twisting sliding mode ...

Geovisualization of household energy consumption characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A vast amount of quantitative data is available within the energy sector, however, there is limited understanding of the relationships between neighbourhoods, demographic characteristics and domestic energy consumption habits.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Storage time prediction of glazed frozen squids during frozen storage at different temperatures based on neural network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Properties, 2020
In this study, quality changes in water-holding capacity, weight loss, color, texture properties, and total sulfhydrylcontent of glazed frozen squids during frozen storage at −5, −10, −20, −30 and −40°C, were determined.

Implementing energy saving algorithms for Ethernet link aggregates with ONOS

open access: yes, 2018
During the last few years, there has been plenty of research for reducing energy consumption in telecommunication infrastructure. However, many of the proposals remain unim-plemented due to the lack of flexibility in legacy networks.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Study on Surface Charge Inversion and Accumulation Characteristics of DC Pillar Insulators Based on B-Spline Basis Functions

open access: yesEnergies
Surface charge accumulation is an important cause of flashover accidents for DC pillar insulators and the failure of DC gas insulation equipment. In this paper, the DC pillar insulator is taken as the research object, and a surface potential measurement ...

Investigation of Light-Extraction Mechanisms of Multiscale Patterned Arrays With Rough Morphology for GaN-Based Thin-Film LEDs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Micro-scale patterned arrays and nano-scale rough morphology are promising for improving the light-extraction performance of GaN-based thin film light-emitting diodes (TFLEDs), while the light-extraction mechanisms of the multiscale architectures ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
