Coherent states as extreme energy states
Foundations of Physics, 1989A class of states obtained by extremizing the energy of a system under certain conditions is introduced and their properties are compared with those of the coherent states. Conditions under which these states move without change of shape and follow the classical path are investigated.

Phosphorescence and Triplet State Energies of Oligothiophenes
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2005The phosphorescence spectra of a series of small oligothiophenes (nT, n = 1-3) incorporating a variety of substituents, end cappers, and functional groups have been recorded for the first time using gated detection in combination with nanosecond excitation in frozen solution at 80 K.

Energy and the maintenance of steady states
Advances in Enzyme Regulation, 1976Abstract When, on addition of a suitable substrate, a chemical potential is applied to an enzymic process such as glycolysis or respiration whether in solution or membrane-bound, all components of the process pass into a non-equilibrium state, which might be steady or non-steady and which produces the following phenomena: 1.

Energy and Transportation in the United States
Annual Review of Energy, 1989In this paper, energy use in all areas of transportation is analyzed. Issues facing the largest of the activities, personal passenger transportation based on petroleum fuels, are explored in depth: the reasons for past and future growth in driving, the past developments in fuel economy, and the possibilities for change in the next one to two decades ...

Are the energy states still energy states? [PDF]
Traditional energy states managed to avoid the early stages of the recent national recession, buoyed by record high crude oil and natural gas prices. Both production and exploration for crude oil and natural gas expanded rapidly in response to the spike in energy prices, propelling strong job and income gains in the energy states.

Lighting energy codes— state by state
Lighting Design + Application, 1979This information—for new buildings, unless otherwise noted—is subject to frequent change. ASHRAE 90-75 (IES/EMS-1), “Energy conservation in new building design,” has been adopted in many states for enforcement. Model codes proposed by building official organizations (BOCA—Building Officials & Code Administration International, ICBO—International ...

Optimal Control Applications and Methods, 1983
AbstractMinimum‐time climbs in the ‘energy’ approximation are reviewed and further consideration given to choice of variables. A pair of variables which seems to offer an attractive replacement for altitude and air‐speed in singular‐perturbation procedures is suggested. Use of the new variables in an energy‐modelled climb‐dash problem is illustrated.

Resource and environmental management generally entail an attempt by governing authorities to dominate, reroute, and tame the natural flows of water, the growth of forests, manage the populations of non-human bodies, and control nature more generally. Often this is done under the mantle of conservation, economic development, and sustainable management,

ENERGY RESOURCES–STATE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
