ON THE EFFECTIVE EQUATION OF STATE OF DARK ENERGY [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2010
In an effective field theory model with an ultraviolet momentum cutoff, there is a relation between the effective equation-of-state of dark energy and the ultraviolet cutoff scale. It implies that a measure of the equation of state of dark energy different from minus one, ω ≠ -1, does not rule out vacuum energy as dark energy.

The scoping, design, and plasma physics optimization of the Eos neutron source stellarator

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
On the path to a fusion pilot plant, Thea Energy plans to build Eos, a sub-breakeven, deuterium-deuterium, beam-target fusion, stellarator neutron source facility for producing tritium and other valuable radioisotopes.

Energy states and energy flow near the transition states of unimolecular reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The use of lasers with jet-cooled samples has improved energy and angular momentum resolution for the reactant and time resolution for the rate constant by orders of magnitude. The resolution of product quantum states has added a new dimension to unimolecular dynamics.

The Metabolism of Clostridium ljungdahlii in Phosphotransacetylase Negative Strains and Development of an Ethanologenic Strain

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2020
The sustainable production of chemicals from non-petrochemical sources is one of the greatest challenges of our time. CO2 release from industrial activity is not environmentally friendly yet provides an inexpensive feedstock for chemical production.

Not just a climate problem: the safety and health risks of methane super-emitter events

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Methane super-emitter events (>100 kg methane hr ^−1 ) are prevalent across the oil and gas supply chain and are being targeted for methane mitigation policies due to their climate impacts; however, few studies have evaluated the air quality impacts and ...
