A review of energy system models

International Journal of Energy Sector Management, 2010
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to provide a comparative overview of existing energy system models to see whether they are suitable for analysing energy, environment and climate change policies of developing countries.Design/methodology/approachThe paper reviews the available literature and follows a systematic comparative approach to achieve its ...

Balanced HSI for Energy – A System Dynamics Model for Energy Systems

AHFE International, 2022
New technologies offer new potentials to tackle everyday challenges, but this has only a chance to become true if technology is intelligently integrated with humans, organizations and environment. A good balance between different stakeholders and tension fields is one of the most challenging research questions of Human Systems Integration.

Advances in Energy Systems Modeling and Control

2007 American Control Conference, 2007
This paper gives an overview of dynamic modeling for energy systems related to vapor compression cycles. Basic components of these systems are described and equations of state are developed. For the heat exchangers, these equations of state are based on a moving boundary models. A reduction of system model order, and insight into primary dynamic modes,

Energy model development for ACB systems

2019 IEEE 15th International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2019
Active chilled beam (ACB) systems are reliable air conditioning and mechanical ventilation solutions. A simple model of the heat transfer rate for ACB systems is proposed in this paper. Besides, the energy models for the whole ACB systems are also developed. The full-scale experiments are conducted to validate the models.

Energy System Modeling

2015
The purpose of this chapter is to describe an integrated management model for the energy sector of a country. Energy poses a problem for the world not only for the future, when probably most of the easily accessible sources of petroleum and natural gas would be exhausted, but for today as well.

Modeling Energy Consumption of Memory Systems

2015 Third International Symposium on Computing and Networking (CANDAR), 2015
The energy consumption of memory is one of the important metrics to evaluate memory systems. However, previous approaches such as using cycle accurate CPU and memory simulators require a long execution time for simulation. We are developing a model of energy consumption of DRAM-and NVM-based main memory, which allows estimating the energy consumption ...

Security model of communications in energy systems

2015 IEEE 5th International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2015
It is the proposal of a safe communications model for the electrical system administration, taking into account the importance of the monitored and managed processes. This, allow the energy companies to maintain the information of their assets and the electrical infrastructure, improving the safety of the information exchange.

Neural Network Modeling of Energy Systems

2004
Artificial neural networks, or simply neural networks, are collections of small, individual interconnected processing units. Information is passed between these units along interconnections. An incoming connection has two values associated with it, an input value and a weight. The output of the unit is a function of the summed value.

Software Simulator to Model an Energy Autonomous System

2009
Nowadays, applications for marine autonomous systems are increasing due to the interest caused by different issues: global warming, surveillance, monitoring, etc. These systems need to work twenty four hours without interruption. For this reason, it is indispensable to have an efficient energy system. In order to characterize the consumption and energy
