Transformations of Energy

1999
Propionic acid fermentation is of major significance for the energetics of propionic acid bacteria. The main fermentation products are propionic and acetic acids and CO2 (Mashur et al., 1971; Foschino et al., 1988). Formic and succinic acids (Mashur et al., 1971) as well as acetoin and diacetyl (Tomka, 1949; Antila, 1956/57; Lee et al., 1969, 1970) are

Transforming Energy

2015
Climate change will be an ecological and humanitarian catastrophe unless we move quickly to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. Policy experts advise us that we need to make major changes to our lifestyles, and our governments need to agree globally binding treaties and implement market instruments like carbon taxes. This advice is a mistake: it treats

On the Energy Consumption of ATL Transformations

Software: Practice and Experience
AbstractBackgroundModel transformations play a crucial role in Model‐Driven Engineering (MDE), with the ATLAS Transformation Language (ATL) being a powerful technology for developing model‐to‐model transformations.MethodsThis paper presents a comprehensive investigation into the energy consumption of ATL transformations, aiming to identify possible ...

Energy Packing Efficiency of the Hadamard Transform

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1976
Summary: This concise paper presents a theoretical evaluation of energy packing of the Hadamard transform which is often used in signal processing. It is shown that energy contained in the lowest \(1/2^j\) \(( j\): positive integer) of a signal's sequency spectrum can be explicitly evaluated in terms of covariances of the signal.

Semiosis and Energy Transformation

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2002
Semiosis is understood as a process of transforming energy to mass via measurement. Measurement is an action of codification, organizing energy within different modes of relation. Measurement is examined within a series of ontological and epistemological cuts that increase asymmetry by first differentiating energy/mass into external and internal realms

Thermionic energy transformers

The Soviet Journal of Atomic Energy, 1962
The question of direct transformation of nuclear energy into electricity by thermionic methods is discussed. A comparison is made of the properties of various materials, containing fissionable matter, and at the same time having good thermoemissive properties. Results are given of transformation experiments in the active zone of a reactor.
