Combination of 3D and 2D Small and Wide Angle X‐Ray Scattering Imaging Reveals Diminished Bone Quality in the Superior Human Femoral Neck Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combined 2D and 3D X‐ray scattering imaging is used to analyse nanostructural properties in the inferior and superior cortex of 78 human femoral necks from 44 donors. The methodology allows for increased interpretation of nanostructure in a statistically relevant dataset, revealing nanostructural differences in anatomical locations critical to clinical

Mechanism‐Driven Nanoformulations for Cognitive Impairment Induced by Intermittent Hypoxia and Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Clinically, intermittent hypoxia (IH) is often accompanied by periodontitis, which accelerates cognitive impairment induced by IH. Novel Janus mesoporous gold‐silica nanoformulations (RVG‐Au&mSiO2‐TPP‐VB) enable intranasal delivery, achieve hierarchical targeting to neuronal mitochondria, effectively scavenge reactive oxygen species, inhibit the HIF‐1α/

Ligand Engineering for Precise Control of Ultrathin CsPbI3 Nanoplatelet Superlattices for Efficient Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we introduce ancillary‐ligand‐mediated growth control of ultrathin CsPbI3 PeNPLs to achieve highly uniform thickness and reduced agglomeration. Strong ancillary‐ligand coordination to the perovskite surface regulates nucleation and improves surface passivation, enabling color‐pure emission and preferentially oriented superlattices.

Vulnerability Evaluation of District Power Grid Based on Tie-line Groups Energy Transmission Mode

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2017
:In order to solve the problem that the current vulnerability assessments do not give enough consideration to the interaction among grids,an evaluation approach of interconnected district grid vulnerability was presented based on tie-line groups energy ...

Power outage-risk integrated social vulnerability analysis highlights disparities in small residential communities

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Individuals experience varying levels of social vulnerability to power grid outages caused by disasters. Neglecting social vulnerability in energy resilience strategies can lead to uneven recovery, which has become a major concern in the U.S.

Reclaiming justice for energy-vulnerable populations: Evidence from the city of los angeles

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews
The issues of energy accessibility and vulnerability have garnered significant attention in recent research. However, previous studies have tended to emphasize access-based energy justice while neglecting vulnerability-based energy justice, particularly ...

Vulnerabilities of Networked Energy Infrastructure

open access: yes, 2019
Considerable work has been done to understand and improve the resilience of individual infrastructure components. However, systems of components, or even systems of systems, are far less well understood. Cascade effects, where the loss of one infrastructure affects others, is a major source of vulnerability which can lead to catastrophic disruptions of

Reliable and Reusable All‐Solid‐State Contact‐Type Pre‐Lithiation Platform for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reusable contact‐type pre‐lithiation platform enables uniform, precisely controllable pre‐lithiation at low stack pressure, suppressing interfacial degradation and thereby markedly improving initial Coulombic efficiency and cycling performance in all‐solid‐state batteries.
