La depresión y las enfermedades cardiovasculares (ECV) son dos de las principales causas de discapacidad, que afectan la calidad de vida y aumentan los costos en salud. Existe una relación bidireccional entre ambas: la depresión es un factor de riesgo para desarrollar ECV y empeora el pronóstico en pacientes con ECV.
