Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...

Single‐Step Fabrication of Monolithic Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors With Enhanced Sensitivity via Femtosecond Laser Direct Writing and Microhole Structuring

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This study presents a single‐step femtosecond laser‐based approach for fabricating flexible capacitive pressure sensors within a gelatin‐silver nitrate matrix. Sensitivity‐enhancing microholes are first created using an amplified femtosecond laser beam, followed by direct writing of flexible metallic silver electrodes.

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing of Thyroid Tissues Reveals Pathogenesis of Graves' Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using single‐cell RNA sequencing and TCR profiling, this study constructed an immune cell atlas in thyroid tissue of Graves’ disease (GD), revealing dominant IFN‐γ‐secreting CD4+ T cells, expanded Tph and CD11c+ B cells, and enriched T/NK cells. Notably, GD thyroid follicular cells (TFCs) activated γδ T cells, which recruited cDC1 cells, suggesting a ...

Nutritional c‐Fos Induction Rewires Hepatic Metabolism and Can Promote Obesity‐Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is shown that hepatic c‐Fos responds to feeding, altering de novo lipogenesis, glycolysis, and a wide range of steatosis‐associated metabolic signaling pathways. Obesogenic diets cause hepatic c‐Fos overexpression, insulin resistance, and the induction of metabolic reprogramming‐related genes.

Human Atlas of Tooth Decay Progression: Identification of Cellular Mechanisms Driving the Switch from Dental Pulp Repair Toward Irreversible Pulpitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tooth decay progression transforms the dental pulp response from repair to fibrosis. At early stages, stromal cells reprogram to repair the extra cellular matrix (ECM), blood vessels, and nerves, remodel and grow, keeping repair possible. In advanced decay, hypoxia, and vessel regression, in complement with an immune switch, fuel nerve degeneration and

Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

A feasibility study of small hydro power for selected locations in Egypt

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews, 2019
One of the biggest challenges facing the world today is to provide access to a safe and affordable electricity supply. Depending on the river flow, small-hydropower is often a cost-effective source of renewable energy.
