Engel Lie rings with chain conditions

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1974
A result of Max Zorn states that if a Lie ring satisfies the maximal condition for subrings and if each element is a bounded left Engel element then the Lie ring is nilpotent. The purpose of this paper is to extend this result to Lie rings satisfying the general Engel condition and with no infinite strictly ascending chains of abelian subrings.

AN ENGEL CONDITION WITH GENERALIZED DERIVATIONS ON LIE IDEALS

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2008
Let $R$ be a prime ring, with extended centroid $C$, $g$ a non-zero generalized derivation of $R$, $L$ a non-central Lie ideal of $R$, $k\geq 1$ a fixed integer. If $[g(u),u]_k=0$, for all $u$, then either $g(x)=ax$, with $a \in C$ or $R$ satisfies the standard identity $s_4$. Moreover in the latter case either $char(R)=2$ or $char(R)\neq 2$ and $g(x)=

The power of many: when genetics met yeasts and high‐throughput

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, complex technological capabilities have evolved, driven by the need to solve complex and integrative biological questions through global analyses. New equipment allows the scaling up and automation of processes which previously were carried out on a very limited scale.

Diet of bird‐like troodontid dinosaurs: synthesis of a contentious clade

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Troodontidae is a clade of small‐to medium‐sized maniraptoran theropods that mainly lived in Laurasia (modern Asia, North America and Europe) during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and are believed to have had a variety of diets. The uniqueness of troodontid teeth suggests that they diverged from the typical flesh‐based diet of non‐avian ...

Highlighting That Green Products Derive From Waste: Which Is the Effect on Consumer Behavioral Intention?

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the current market landscape, many innovative eco‐friendly materials are being developed. Plant‐based leather is being used recently in the production of fashion accessories. Based on the rational perspective in explaining sustainable consumer behavior, this study investigates the effect of green perceived utility, perceived performance ...

On Lie Rings Satisfying the Fourth Engel Condition [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
In this paper we prove that a Lie ring of characteristic prime to 2, 3 and 5, satisfying the fourth Engel condition, is nilpotent.
