FEMALE STUDENTS IN ENGINEERING Geology, Mining, and Petroleum Engineering Comparison

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 1997
Engineering professions genceraly went last decades through process of feminization, but not equaly. The article is focused on one of the most male dominant profession - mining, geology and petroleum engineering (MGPE).

Bio‐Inspired Oligocellulose‐Regulated Ice‐Water Interfaces Enable Sustained Ion Transport in Frozen Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by antifreeze glycoproteins (AFGPs), we synthesized a type of oligomeric cellulose (OC‐8) to inhibit ice formation and enlarge the inter‐ice water channel for transportation. Typical confocal fluorescence experiments display the expansion of the ice‐water interface for zinc‐ion transport.

Quality of conventional fixed piston samples of Norwegian soft clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
It is well accepted that the quality of soft clay samples obtained using standard fixed piston samplers can be relatively poor and that block samples are necessary to yield very high quality samples.

A Compact Hollow Fiber Electrode Assembly Architecture for Continuous Electrochemical Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A coaxial, membrane‐integrated hollow fiber electrode assembly (HFEA) is developed for continuous marine carbon mineralization. By utilizing a sub‐millimeter inter‐electrode gap, the HFEA minimizes Ohmic losses, achieving 50% energy reduction and over 85% DIC removal.

Design Principles of Electrocatalysts for Industrial‐Scale Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This Review distills electrocatalyst design for industrial‐scale water electrolysis into integrated principles linking active‐site engineering, phase and lattice modulation, interfacial microenvironment regulation and mass‐transport control. By connecting catalyst families with HER/OER mechanisms and practical operating demands, it outlines pathways ...
