Assessing Expansive Soil Engineering Parameters Using Spectroscopy
IGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008Presence of expansive soils in construction sites has serious implications on planning, design, construction, maintenance, and overall performance especially of lightweight engineering infrastructures. Such soils are particularly susceptible to considerable volume changes in response to moisture content fluctuations following seasonal climatic ...

Electrochemical incineration of oxalic acid: Reactivity and engineering parameters
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2005Mass transfer measurements were carried out to test a disk-shaped parallel-plate electrochemical cell, based on a new design. The impinging-jet-cell concept, confined between parallel plates, was adapted to a configuration with one central inlet and several peripheral exit sections, leading to more effective hydrodynamics within the cell.

Estimation of Dynamic Fuel Parameters in Automotive Engines
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1994Many automotive engine models exist for the development of control algorithms. These models should include the important lags and delays which can affect the response of the overall controlled system. One of the most important, and most difficult parts of the engine to estimate is the fuel delivery model, from when the demand for fuel is calculated to ...

Engineering VBR traffic parameters for WAN voice
Proceedings of ICC'97 - International Conference on Communications, 2002Asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) supports a number of different traffic classes, including constant bit rate (CBR), available bit rate (ABR) and variable bit rate (VBR). Applications wishing to use a particular class must determine the set of traffic parameters which characterize the connection.

Performance Parameters of Jet Engines
2016This chapter introduces the different parameters governing the performance of jet engines. Aircraft engine develops the thrust force used in propelling the aircraft. After deducing a general relation for thrust force developed in one and two stream engines, a detailed study for different parameters influencing thrust is given.

Lightning Parameters for Engineering Applications
2013Various parameters of lightning discharges will be reviewed. Both common negative and less frequent but potentially more destructive positive and bipolar flashes will be covered. Direct lightning current measurements on instrumented towers will be discussed. Properties of first and subsequent strokes will be compared.

An engineering method for calculating the parameters and characteristics of pulse detonation engines
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2009Theoretical fundamentals for calculating the thermodynamic cycle of engines with fuel detonation (FD cycle), which is realized in the thrust units of pulse detonation engines (PDE), are presented. A system of equations for calculating the parameters of the detonation waves under various conditions of their initiation is derived.

Engine and multitask airplane integration: criteria of engine parameters selection
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 2013Purpose – The paper aims to present a way of engine model integration, an aircraft (multitask) and the mission into the single model that allows to study, from the level of selection of the engine cycle parameters, the feasibility of a specific mission with the assumed aerodynamic characteristics exemplified by a ...
