Fluctuating asymmetry and fitness correlations in twoEngraulis encrasicoluspopulations

Journal of Fish Biology, 2009
Correlations among several measures of fluctuating asymmetry (FA) and fitness‐related variables were assessed in two populations of the European anchovyEngraulis encrasicoluswith fast growth (Aegean Sea) and slow growth (Ionian Sea), respectively.

Is anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus, L.) overfished in the Adriatic Sea?

Ecological Modelling, 2007
Based on Santojanni et al. (2003) stock size estimates for the period from 1975 to 1996, we constructed a model to investigate population dynamics of anchovies. Using numeric simulations we calculate the maximum sustainable catch (MSC) as well as the optimum level of spawning stock to maintain the MSC. By comparing computed levels with Santojanni et al.

High resolution SNPs selection in Engraulis encrasicolus through Taqman OpenArray

Fisheries Research, 2016
Abstract The European anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) is one of the most important species in fisheries, representing the majority of landings worldwide. Identification of genetic stocks and assessment of divergence among them, is critical in order to implement management strategies.

Isolation of polymorphic microsatellite loci from the European anchovy, Engraulis encrasicolus

Molecular Ecology Notes, 2005
AbstractThe European anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus L., Engraulidae) is a widely spread fish resource which is overexploited along its area of distribution. A proper knowledge of the population genetic structure of this fish species is crucial to allow a sustainable management of fishery stocks.

Submitt ed functions allowing separation anchovy in three races, the Black Sea anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus Linnaeus, 1758), Asov anchovy and Asov-Black Sea anchovy, are found. Informativity of biological analysis parameters for interpretation of racial distinctions of anchovy is estimated.

Morfološke karakteristike populacija inćuna (Engraulis encrasicolus) u Jadranskom moru [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
