Moral Licensing in Luxury: Why Prosocial Brand Image Outshines Coolness in Cause‐Related Marketing

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, Volume 25, Issue 4, Page 1877-1896, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This research examines how cause‐related marketing (CM) shapes consumer responses to luxury brands. We focus on the roles of CM‐driven prosocial brand image and brand coolness as parallel mediators in reducing guilt and enhancing purchase intentions.

Spatial and temporal patterns of bark beetle and defoliator outbreaks, and their interactions, in the Pacific Northwest

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 5, July 2026.
Abstract The dynamics of many forest insects are changing in response to climate warming; however, patterns are not always consistent among or within taxa. Changes in outbreak dynamics for individual species have received much recent attention, but the potential for interactions among species has received less.

On the botanical history and nomenclature of the New World genus Piscidia (Fabaceae)

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2026, Issue 7, July 2026.
Piscidia L. (Fabaceae) is a New World genus with nine recognized taxa (seven species and two varieties). The previous nomenclatural revisions, made in 1910 and in 1969, are revisited here. The names Derris grandifolia Heyde & Lux ex Donn.Sm. and P. cubensis Urb. required step II lectotypifications, with an epitype for the latter name.

Machine Learning‐Driven Capillary Microfluidic Design Automation for Programmable Gradient Generation and Antimicrobial Testing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
TCG‐CMDA, a machine learning‐guided capillary microfluidic design automation platform, enables automated design of tree‐shaped concentration gradient generators for programmable mixing of two agents. The pump‐free chip supports synchronized passive flow and programmable gradient formation, providing a practical framework for decentralized point‐of‐care
