Factors Affecting the Microbial Populations at Full-Scale Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR) Wastewater Treatment Plants in the Netherlands

Water Research, 2008
The influence of operating and environmental conditions on the microbial populations of the enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) process at seven full-scale municipal activated sludge wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in The Netherlands was studied.

Short-Term Performance of Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR) System Exposed to Erythromycin (ERY) and Oxytetracycline (OTC)

Bioresource Technology, 2016
The effects of Erythromycin (ERY) and oxytetracycline (OTC), including individual and combinative effect, on enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) system within a short-term (24h) were evaluated in this study. Results showed that the P-removal efficiency decreased to 34.6% and 0.0% under the effect of ERY (10mg/L) and OTC (10mg/L) for 24h.

Advanced nitrogen and phosphorus removal from municipal wastewater via simultaneous enhanced biological phosphorus removal and semi-nitritation (EBPR-SN) combined with anammox

Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, 2020
In this study, a novel laboratory-scale synchronous enhanced biological phosphorus removal and semi-nitritation (termed as EBPR-SN) combined with anammox process was put forward for achieving nutrient elimination from municipal wastewater at 27 ℃. This process consisted of two 10 L sequencing batch reactors (SBRs), i.e.

Development of a Phosphate Ion-selective Microelectrode and Its Use in Studies of the Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (ebpr) Process

Environmental Technology, 2005
In an enhanced biological phosphorus reactor (EBPR), most poly-phosphate accumulating microorganisms (PAOs) exist as microbial aggregates, or flocs. Information contributing to a better understanding of the internal structure and function of flocs can lead to improvements in the modeling, design and operation of EBPR systems in wastewater treatment.

Impact of Cr(VI) on P removal performance in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) system based on the anaerobic and aerobic metabolism

Bioresource Technology, 2012
Influence of Cr(VI) on P removal in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) system was investigated with respect to the composition of poly-phosphate-accumulating organisms (PAOs) and glycogen accumulating organisms (GAOs), the transformation of poly-β-hydroxyalkanoates (PHA) and glycogen, enzymes' activities, and the intracellular Cr.

[Effect of nitrite accumulation on enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) in A2O process treating domestic wastewater].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2011
At normal temperature, short-cut nitrification and denitrification was achieved in a lab-scale A2O process treating low C/N ratio domestic wastewater by controlling DO concentration of 0.3-0.5 mg/L and increasing the internal reflux ratio to decrease the actual aerobic HRT.

Long-term effect of low concentration Cr(VI) on P removal in granule-based enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) system

Chemosphere, 2015
In light of the fact that most wastewater in China contained both industrial and domestic wastewater, a 52-d systematical investigation was conducted on the long-term effect of low concentration Cr(VI) (0.3-0.8 mg L(-1)) on P removal performance of granule-based EBPR system in this study. The mechanisms were likewise discussed. Results showed that high

[Review on the main microorganisms and their metabolic mechanisms in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) systems].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2015
Enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) process is applied widely for removing phosphorus from wastewater. Studies on functional microorganisms and their metabolic mechanisms are fundamental to effective regulation for stable operation and performance improvement of EBPR process.
