Illustration of the three methods of investigating temperature increases during the fatigue test of continuous glass fiber reinforced Elium thermoplastic composite materials. Abstract There is an increasing trend toward thermoplastic matrix composites in the automotive industry, and the most significant damage type is owing to fatigue. A set of fatigue

Renormalization Group Scaling of Higgs Operators and \Gamma(h -> \gamma \gamma) [PDF]
We compute the renormalization of dimension six Higgs-gauge boson operators that can modify \Gamma(h -> \gamma \gamma) at tree-level. Operator mixing is shown to lead to an important modification of new physics effects which has been neglected in past ...

Dynamic Spectrum Refarming with Overlay for Legacy Devices [PDF]
The explosive growth in data traffic is resulting in a spectrum crunch forcing many wireless network operators to look towards refarming their 2G spectrum and deploy more spectrally efficient Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. However, mobile network operators face a challenge when it comes to spectrum refarming because 2G technologies such as ...

Effect of additively manufactured core on the transverse compression performance of foam‐filled sandwich composite structures. Abstract This paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the quasi‐static compression response of novel 3D‐printed carbon fiber‐reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass fiber‐reinforced polymer (GFRP) core‐based corrugated foam ...

Baryogenesis by Brane-Collision [PDF]
We present a new scenario for baryogenesis in the context of heterotic brane-world models. The baryon asymmetry of the universe is generated at a small-instanton phase transition which is initiated by a moving brane colliding with the observable boundary.

Verification of Semantically-Enhanced Artifact Systems (Extended Version) [PDF]
Artifact-Centric systems have emerged in the last years as a suitable framework to model business-relevant entities, by combining their static and dynamic aspects. In particular, the Guard-Stage-Milestone (GSM) approach has been recently proposed to model artifacts and their lifecycle in a declarative way.

Deep Reinforcement Learning‐Based Control for Real‐Time Hybrid Simulation of Civil Structures
ABSTRACT Real‐time Hybrid Simulation (RTHS) is a cyber‐physical technique that studies the dynamic behavior of a system by combining physical and numerical components that are coupled through a boundary condition enforcer. In structural engineering, the numerical components are subjected to environmental loads that become dynamic displacements of the ...

Verification of Artifact-Centric Systems: Decidability and Modeling Issues [PDF]
Artifact-centric business processes have recently emerged as an approach in which processes are centred around the evolution of business entities, called artifacts, giving equal importance to control-flow and data. The recent Guard-State-Milestone (GSM) approach provides means for specifying business artifacts lifecycles in a declarative manner, using ...

An Improved Model of Diffuse Galactic Radio Emission from 10 MHz to 5 THz [PDF]
We present an improved Global Sky Model (GSM) of diffuse galactic radio emission from 10 MHz to 5 THz, whose uses include foreground modeling for CMB and 21 cm cosmology. Our model improves on past work both algorithmically and by adding new data sets such as the Planck maps and the enhanced Haslam map.
