Establishment of bidirectional communication behavior between natural and artificial cells. The first type of communication from natural dendritic cells to artificial polymeric cells was achieved via ATP release after cell lysis. The released ATP was taken up via gated UV‐controlled permeability increase of the polymeric membrane for performing ...

Electrically Induced Phase Transition and Synaptic Functionality in MoTe2/Graphene Memristors
An electrically induced reversible 2H ↔ 1T′ phase transition is demonstrated in a vertical Au/Ti/MoTe2/graphene memristor with a laterally contacted graphene electrode. Resistive switching proceeds through a compositionally invariant amorphous/2H ↔ amorphous/1T′ transformation, in which a self‐formed amorphous MoTe2 interfacial region is proposed to ...

Heat transfer evaluation of an enhanced heat transfer tube bundle
Energy, 2014Abstract Demands to increase performance of modern heat exchange systems are constantly being made. Typical requirements include the removal of larger amounts of energy or the development of process units that occupy a smaller unit footprint. Vipertex™ 1EHT enhanced surfaces have been designed and produced through material surface modifications in ...

Nanowires for Enhanced Boiling Heat Transfer
Nano Letters, 2009Boiling is a common mechanism for liquid-vapor phase transition and is widely exploited in power generation and refrigeration devices and systems. The efficacy of boiling heat transfer is characterized by two parameters: (a) heat transfer coefficient (HTC) or the thermal conductance; (b) the critical heat flux (CHF) limit that demarcates the transition

Enhancement of heat transfer in stokes flows
2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017We discuss the optimal control problem of enhancing heat transfer between two fluids via controlling the velocity of the cold fluid flow. In this paper, we consider that the fluid flow for cooling the hot fluid is a Stokes fluid flow induced by the boundary control inputs through the Navier slip boundary conditions.

Heat transfer enhancement in heated microchannels
This study investigates the physical characteristics of a single flow-induced filament on the fluid dynamics and heat transfer performance inside an unconfined heated microchannel through numerical simulations. The contributions of length (𝐿𝑥), mass ratio (𝑀) and reduced velocity (𝑈𝑟), as controlling parameters for flexibility, heat transfer ...Gholami, Aysan +2 more
