We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Energy-saving renovation of old urban buildings: A case study of Beijing
Energy saving and environmental protection have become the core development concept of China construction industry. There are still a large number of old urban buildings in Beijing, whose energy consumption far exceeds the current building energy ...

Heat transfer enhancement by Görtler instability
Abstract Measurements of mean velocity field and mean temperature field were performed in a concave boundary layer. The growth of the induced Gortler vortices embedded in this boundary layer has been determined in two ways by a criterion based equally on spanwise distortion of velocity or temperature profile.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Frequent fluctuations of CNG engine operating conditions make the waste heat source have uncertain, nonlinear, and strong coupling characteristics. These characteristics are not conducive to the efficient recovery of the DORC system.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT IN PHASE-CHANGE HEAT EXCHANGERS
The paper presents the results of boiling heat transfer enhancement due to the application of additional mesh on the heat exchanger surface. The copper mesh of porosity of 75% was sintered to the copper heater producing strong bonds between the elements.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
