Spontaneous two photon emission from a single quantum dot

open access: yes, 2011
Spontaneous two photon emission from a solid-state single quantum emitter is observed. We investigated photoluminescence from the neutral biexciton in a single semiconductor quantum dot coupled with a high Q photonic crystal nanocavity.

Photoluminescence emission and Raman enhancement in TERS: an experimental and analytic revisiting

open access: yesNanophotonics
An analytic model is used to calculate the Raman and fluorescence enhancement of a molecule in between two closely spaced gold nanospheres. Instead of using the conventional approach that only the dipolar plasmonic mode is considered, we calculate the ...

Electron focusing, mode spectroscopy and mass enhancement in small GaAs/AlGaAs rings

open access: yes, 1992
A new electron focusing effect has been discovered in small single and coupled GaAs/AlGaAs rings. The focusing in the single ring is attributed solely to internal orbits. The focusing effect allows the ring to be used as a small mass spectrometer.

Extraordinary Light-Trapping Enhancement in Silicon Solar Cell Patterned with Graded Photonic Super-Crystals

open access: yesPhotonics, 2017
Light-trapping enhancement in newly discovered graded photonic super-crystals (GPSCs) with dual periodicity and dual basis is herein explored for the first time.

Multiwave Interactions in Turbulent Jets [PDF]

open access: yes
Nonlinear wave-wave interactions in turbulent jets were investigated based on the integrated energy of each scale of motion in a cross section of the jet.

Optimal mode matching in cavity optomagnonics

open access: yes, 2019
Inelastic scattering of photons is a promising technique to manipulate magnons but it suffers from weak intrinsic coupling. We theoretically discuss an idea to increase optomagnonic coupling in optical whispering gallery mode cavities, by generalizing ...

Raman Scattering Enhancement through Pseudo-Cavity Modes

open access: yesNanomaterials
Raman spectroscopy plays a pivotal role in spectroscopic investigations. The small Raman scattering cross-section of numerous analytes, however, requires enhancement of the signal through specific structuring of the electromagnetic and morphological properties of the underlying surface.

Resonant Enhancement of Coherent Phonons in Carbon Nanotubes Observed with Sub-10fs Time Resolution

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Using wavelength-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy with a sub-10-fs laser, we investigated resonant enhancement of radial breathing mode and G-mode coherent phonons in carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and successfully distinguished the electronic states of CNTs ...

Design and analysis of 10 nm T-gate enhancement-mode MOS-HEMT for high power microwave applications

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, 2019
In this work, we propose a novel enhancement-mode GaN metal-oxide-semiconductor high electron mobility transistor (MOS-HEMT) with a 10 nm T-gate length and a high-k TiO2 gate dielectric.
