Francesco Barbagallo è professore emerito di Storia Contemporanea presso l’Università degli studi di Napoli Federico II. Dal 1983 al 2016 è stato direttore della rivista «Studi Storici», trimestrale della Fondazione Istituto Gramsci, che affronta i grandi temi della storiografia dall’antichità all’età contemporanea e ha coordinato la rivista «Storia dell’Italia repubblicana» edita da Einaudi.
