Spinal cord injury (SCI) results in numerous systemic dysfunctions, including intestinal dysmotility and enteric nervous system (ENS) atrophy. The ENS has capacity to recover following perturbation, yet intestinal pathologies persist.

Fronting in Old Catalan: Asymmetries between Narration and Reported Speech1

Abstract This article explores the distribution, syntax, and information structure of XVS clauses in the narrative text and the reported speech of a thirteenth‐century Old Catalan chronicle, the Llibre dels Fets. It is shown that XVS occurs mainly within reported speech and in embedded clauses.

Breeding Dispersal of Baltic Dunlins Is Not an Adaptive Response to Unpredictable Nest Flooding

Flood‐related nest losses of the Baltic dunlin (Calidris alpina schinzii) have drastically increased over the past two decades. Using 20 years of reproductive data from 184 individuals, we found that between‐year and within‐site dispersal tended to increase following nest failure in males.

Background and Purpose Gamma‐glutamyl dipeptides are essentially produced after glutathione (GSH) degradation. While several γ‐glutamyl dipeptides have been detected in different organs and body fluids, their biological activity remains elusive. This is the case for γ‐Glutamyl‐Glycine (γ‐Glu‐Gly) which has been found in different brain areas.
