Shaping contours of entanglement islands in BCFT

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this paper, we study the fine structure of entanglement in holographic two-dimensional boundary conformal field theories (BCFT) in terms of the spatially resolved quasilocal extension of entanglement entropy — entanglement contour.

Satellite-based entanglement distribution over 1200 kilometers [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2017
Entangled photons are distributed over vast distances using a satellite-to-ground link. Space calling Earth, on the quantum line A successful quantum communication network will rely on the ability to distribute entangled photons over large distances ...

Colloquium : Many-body localization, thermalization, and entanglement [PDF]

open access: yesReviews of Modern Physics, 2018
Thermalizing quantum systems are conventionallydescribed by statistical mechanics at equilib-rium. However, not all systems fall into this category, with many-body localization providinga generic mechanism for thermalization to fail in strongly ...

Entanglement fidelity and measure of entanglement

open access: yesQuantum Information Processing, 2020
The notion of entanglement fidelity is to measure entanglement preservation through quantum channels. Nevertheless, the amount of entanglement present in a state of a quantum system at any time is measured by quantities known as measures of entanglement.

Wormholes and entanglement [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2014
Maldacena and Susskind have proposed a correspondence between wormholes and entanglement, dubbed ER=EPR. We study this in the context of 3d topological quantum field theory, where we show that the formation of a wormhole is the same process as creating a particle-antiparticle pair.

Entanglement classification via operator size

open access: yesSciPost Physics Core, 2023
In this work, multipartite entanglement is classified by polynomials. I show that the operator size is closely related to the entanglement structure. Given a generic quantum state, I define a series of subspaces generated by operators of different sizes ...

Measurement-Induced Phase Transitions in the Dynamics of Entanglement [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2018
We define dynamical universality classes for many-body systems whose unitary evolution is punctuated by projective measurements. In cases where such measurements occur randomly at a finite rate $p$ for each degree of freedom, we show that the system has ...

Gravity as entanglement, entanglement as gravity [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
A generalized and unifying viewpoint to both general relativity and quantum mechanics and information is investigated. It may be described as a generaliztion of the concept of reference frame from mechanics to thermodynamics, or from a reference frame linked to an element of a system, and thus, within it, to another reference frame linked to the whole ...

Modular Entanglement [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
We introduce and discuss the concept of modular entanglement. This is the entanglement that is established between the end points of modular systems composed by sets of interacting moduli of arbitrarily fixed size. We show that end-to-end modular entanglement scales in the thermodynamic limit and rapidly saturates with the number of constituent moduli.
