Entanglement thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2014
We investigate further the relationship between the entanglement spectrum of a composite many-body system and the energy spectrum of a subsystem making use of concepts of canonical thermodynamics. In many important cases the entanglement Hamiltonian is, in the limit of strong coupling between subsystems, proportional to the energy Hamiltonian of the ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Mapping photonic entanglement into and out of a quantum memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Recent developments of quantum information science critically rely on entanglement, an intriguing aspect of quantum mechanics where parts of a composite system can exhibit correlations stronger than any classical counterpart.

Approximate encoding of quantum states using shallow circuits

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information
Quantum algorithms and simulations often require the preparation of complex states through sequences of 2-qubit gates. For a generic quantum state, the number of required gates grows exponentially with the number of qubits, becoming unfeasible on near ...

Entanglement entropy and Schmidt number as measures of delocalization of $\alpha$ clusters in one-dimensional nuclear systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We calculated the von Neumann entanglement entropy and the Schmidt number of one dimentional (1D) cluster states and showed that these are useful measures to estimate entanglement caused by delocalization of clusters. We analyze system size dependence of

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Detecting High-Dimensional Entanglement in Cold-Atom Quantum Simulators

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2023
Quantum entanglement has been identified as a crucial concept underlying many intriguing phenomena in condensed matter systems, such as topological phases or many-body localization.
