Entangling capacities of noisy two-qubit Hamiltonians
We show that intrinsic fluctuations in system control parameters impose limits on the ability of two-qubit (exchange) Hamiltonians to generate entanglement starting from mixed initial states. We find three classes for Gaussian and Laplacian fluctuations.

Steady-state entanglement production in a quantum thermal machine with continuous feedback control
Quantum thermal machines can generate steady-state entanglement by harvesting spontaneous interactions with local environments. However, using minimal resources and control, the entanglement is typically weak.

The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Coherent-state control of noninteracting quantum entanglement [PDF]
We exploit a novel approximation scheme to obtain a new and compact formula for the parameters underlying coherent-state control of the evolution of a pair of entangled two-level systems. It is appropriate for long times and for relatively strong external quantum control via coherent state irradiation.

Controllable spin entanglement production in a quantum spin Hall ring
We study the entanglement production in a quantum spin Hall ring geometry where electrons of opposite spins are emitted in pairs from a source and collected in two different detectors.

Effects of entanglement in controlled dephasing [PDF]
In controlled dephasing as a result of the interaction of a controlled environment (dephasor) and the system under observation (dephasee) the states of the two subsystems are entangled. Using as an example the ``Which Path Detector'', we discuss how the entanglement influences the controlled dephasing.

Steady-state entanglement of interacting masses in free space through optimal feedback control
We develop a feedback strategy based on optimal quantum feedback control for Gaussian systems to maximize the likelihood of steady-state entanglement detection between two directly interacting masses.
