Respiratory complex I‐mediated NAD+ regeneration regulates cancer cell proliferation through the transcriptional and translational control of p21Cip1 expression by SIRT3 and SIRT7

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Crepant resolutions and open strings [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Reine Angew. Math. 755 (2019), 191-245, 2013
We formulate a Crepant Resolution Correspondence for open Gromov-Witten invariants (OCRC) of toric Lagrangian branes inside Calabi-Yau 3-orbifolds by encoding the open theories into sections of Givental's symplectic vector space. The correspondence can be phrased as the identification of these sections via a linear morphism of Givental spaces.

Enteric coated microspheres of pancreatin in the treatment of cystic fibrosis: comparison with a standard enteric coated preparation. [PDF]

open access: yesThorax, 1987
In an open, randomised crossover study enteric coated microspheres of pancreatin were compared with a standard preparation of enteric coated pancreatin over two consecutive 28 day treatment periods in 23 adults with steatorrhoea due to cystic fibrosis. Lipase intake was equal to the patients' previous requirements and was the same during the two months.

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Formulation and development of Serratiopeptidase enteric coated tablets and analytical method validation by UV Spectroscopy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2021
Serratiopeptidase (SRP) is a proteolytic enzyme that emerged as one of the most potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs. The purpose of the present study was to formulate and evaluate enteric-coated tablets for SRP and investigate their stability ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Microfluidic Fabrication of Hydrocortisone Nanocrystals Coated with Polymeric Stabilisers

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
Hydrocortisone (HC) nanocrystals intended for parenteral administration of HC were produced by anti-solvent crystallisation within coaxial assemblies of pulled borosilicate glass capillaries using either co-current flow of aqueous and organic phases or ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells
