Summary Borna disease is an acute to subacute, rarely chronic non‐purulent meningoencephalomyelitis affecting mainly horses and sheep. This case series describes the clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment, outcome and post‐mortem findings of five horses and two donkeys with this condition.
