ABSTRACT Gut microbiota may contribute to the adiposity‐associated disease risk, but human studies reported inconsistent associations of adiposity with gut microbiota composition. We examined associations of body mass index (BMI) with alpha diversity and relative microbial abundance at the phylum and genus taxonomic levels (based on 16S rRNA amplicon ...

Comparative genomic analysis of three Enterobacter strains associated with rice leaf wilt disease
Recent studies have revealed that certain Enterobacter species can induce rice leaf blight symptoms resembling those caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, the primary etiological agent of bacterial blight, which poses a significant threat to global ...

ABSTRACT Background Serious bacterial infections (SBIs) are major contributors to neonatal morbidity and mortality in low‐income countries. We describe the aetiology and risk factors for neonatal bacteraemia and in‐hospital mortality in eastern Ethiopia, focusing on Pantoea dispersa, a rarely studied pathogen, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Comparative analysis of Cronobactor sp. with respect to genomic diversity and physiology
In recent years, some outbreaks of bacterial infection in neonatal intensive care units have been traced to powdered infant formula contaminated with Cronobacter species, causing life-threatening diseases such as necrotizing enterocolitis and meningitis.

ABSTRACT Objectives To describe the aetiology and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of common bacterial infections in hospitalised patients in Jakarta, Indonesia. Methods We conducted a hospital‐wide point prevalence survey in six hospitals in 2019, capturing data from routinely ordered bacterial cultures taken before the start of antibiotic treatment.
