DNA Segregation in Enterobacteria
EcoSal Plus, 2023DNA segregation ensures that cell offspring receive at least one copy of each DNA molecule, or replicon, after their replication. This important cellular process includes different phases leading to the physical separation of the replicons and their movement toward the future daughter cells.

Purine catabolism by enterobacteria
2023Purines are abundant among organic nitrogen sources and have high nitrogen content. Accordingly, microorganisms have evolved different pathways to catabolize purines and their metabolic products such as allantoin. Enterobacteria from the genera Escherichia, Klebsiella and Salmonella have three such pathways.

Biology of the Neonate, 2009
Enterobacterial digestive tract colonization of neonates under different conditions during their first days of life was studied. Our objective is to determine the frequency of antibiotic resistance under different conditions (hospitalized newborns treated or not with antibiotics, newborns in a maternity unit, mothers treated or not) thereby permitting ...

Enterobacteria and host resistance to infection
Mammalian Genome, 2018Enterobacteriaceae are a large family of Gram-negative, non-spore-forming bacteria. Although many species exist as part of the natural flora of animals including humans, some members are associated with both intestinal and extraintestinal diseases. In this review, we focus on members of this family that have important roles in human disease: Salmonella,

15. The range of amino acids detected on two -dimensional chromatography was not suggestive of an atypical protein. The adsorption of fimbriae to DEAE - but not to CM- cellulose suggests a preponderance of acidic amino acids in their structure. The relevance of this finding is discussed in relation to their agglutinating properties and to their ...

Microwave sterilization of enterobacteria.
Microbios, 1994A new method is described which makes it possible to treat metal materials with microwaves. In consequence scalpel blades as well as cover glasses contaminated with four species of bacteria (Salmonella typhi, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) were sterilized.
