Detection and characterization of enterocins from Enterococcus sp.

open access: yesIndian journal of experimental biology, 2004
Examination of 90 isolates of Enterococcus sp. revealed production of enterocin by two isolates of E. faecalis which was inhibitory to Listeria monocytogenes. Two isolates of E. gallinarum produced enterocin active against Staphylococcus aureus. None of the isolates antagonized Salmonella enteritidis. The enterocins of E.

Antimicrobial Secondary Metabolites From Rhizosphere‐Associated Streptomyces Species in Northern Nigerian Agricultural Soils: Genomic Mining and Bioactivity Assessment

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Nigerian agricultural soils harbour diverse Streptomyces species producing novel antimicrobial secondary metabolites. Genomic mining revealed 187 biosynthetic gene clusters, leading to isolation of twelve new compounds with potent activity against multidrug‐resistant pathogens, including MRSA and vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus. ABSTRACT Streptomyces

From plant to fabric: Environmental opportunities associated with annatto dye for sustainable development in the textile industry

open access: yesColoration Technology, Volume 142, Issue 3, Page 333-353, June 2026.
Abstract Natural dyes are compounds that occur naturally in several organisms and are classified based on chemical structure and application method. The literature cites several natural dyes used in industrial transformation processes. Annatto dye is used in the food industry, and its biological pigment is extracted from the annatto seed. However, this

[Influence of staphylococcin T on Enterococcus sp. growth].

open access: yesMedycyna doswiadczalna i mikrobiologia, 2008
Bacteriocins are ribosomally synthesised, extracellular bacterial products. Generally, spectrum of inhibition is limited to the same or closely related species to bacteriocin producer. Staphylococcin T is produced by Staphylococcus cohnii strain. The present study concerns influence of StT to 267 Enterococcus sp.

Vaginal Microbiota and Ovarian Cancer: A New Frontier in Immunomodulation and Diagnosis

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 178, Issue 2, Page 209-217, June 2026.
Microbial imbalance, dysbiosis, plays a role in ovarian carcinogenesis by interacting with the immune system and altering inflammatory pathways, notably Th17 pathways. In contrast, eubiosis, characterised by Lactobacillus dominance, protects against infections and maintains hormone metabolism.
