Methylene blue adsorption by timbaúva (Enterolobium contortisiliquum)-derived materials
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2020Liquid effluents from various dyeing industries often have a high concentration of dyes that diffuse into river systems and can be toxic and non-degradable in the environment. In this study, the potential of the use of timbaúva seed husks in the preparation of four adsorbents tested in the removal of methylene blue was analyzed: in natura, chemically ...

Intoxication by the pods of Enterolobium contortisiliquum in goats.
2007AbstractThis paper reports on two cases of poisoning which occurred last July 2004 which were suspected to be from the pods of E. contortisiliquum eaten by goats raised in the state of Paraiba, Brazil. The clinical aspects, clinical examination as well as treatment of pods to eliminate its toxicity were also discussed in the report.

The use of saline aquaculture effluent for production of Enterolobium contortisiliquum seedlings
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2017The use of aquaculture effluent for irrigation of field crops has been suggested as the most appropriate biological method for treatment of this effluent. However, using it for irrigation of tree species in seedling nurseries might be a better alternative to avoid soil salinization and groundwater contamination in agricultural fields.

Micropropagation ofEnterolobium cyclocarpum(Jacq.) Griseb
Journal of Sustainable Forestry, 2007Abstract Shoot multiplication was achieved from cotyledon and hypocotyl segments of in vitro germinated seedlings of Enterolobium cyxclocarpum on Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with BA (0.5-2.0 mg/L) and IAA (0.1-0.3 mg/L). Among the different concentrations and combination tested, BA (1.0 mg/L) in combination with IAA (0.2 mg/L) stimulated ...

Cattle intoxication from Enterolobium contortisiliquum pods.
Veterinary and human toxicology, 2002Three outbreaks of hepatogenous photosensitization caused by pods of Enterolobium contortisiliquum are reported in cattle. Clinical signs were anorexia, depression, photosensitization and abortion. Most affected cattle recovered in 30-40 d. At necropsies, liver was present, the gallbladder was enlarged and edematous, and numerous seeds of E ...

Enterolacaciamine as a potential O-GlcNAcase activator from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum
Fitoterapia, 2015Enterolacaciamine (1), a new potential O-GlcNAcase activator, along with three known triterpenoid saponins, concinnoside B (2), concinnoside D (3), and julibroside A3 (4) was isolated from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods (UV, MS, 1D and 2D NMR).
