Isolation and characterization of microsatellite loci in the Guanacaste tree, Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Molecular Ecology Resources, 2008
AbstractWe isolated nine microsatellite loci from the Guanacaste tree (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) and optimized them for future research on breeding populations of this species. Loci were screened across 53 individuals from one population and were shown to be variable with the number of alleles per locus ranging from five to 15.

Enterolacaciamine as a potential O-GlcNAcase activator from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Fitoterapia, 2015
Enterolacaciamine (1), a new potential O-GlcNAcase activator, along with three known triterpenoid saponins, concinnoside B (2), concinnoside D (3), and julibroside A3 (4) was isolated from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods (UV, MS, 1D and 2D NMR).

The effect of isolation method on properties of parota (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) starch

Food Hydrocolloids, 2016
Abstract The properties of starch from parota ( Enterolobium cyclocarpum ) isolated by three methods, sodium bisulfite (M1), distilled water (M2) and acid steeping (M3), were assessed. The properties studied included: proximal composition, physicochemical characteristics, morphology of starch granules, swelling power and solubility, fourier transform

Solid state characterization of two novel gums from Cedrela odorata and Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation, 2017
Functional and physicochemical properties of two novel polymers from plants were characterized with a view of determining suitability for use in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Cedrela gum (CD) and Enterolobium gum (ET) were extracted from the incised trunk of Cedrela odorata (Meliaceae) and Enterolobium cyclocarpum (Mimosoideae) trees respectively.

Replacement of lucerne by Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves in the diet of growing goats

Animal Production Science, 2018
Animal production in tropical regions is commonly limited by the low crude protein content and digestibility of pastures, particularly during the dry season. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of including Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves (ECL) (0%, 15% and 30%) in diets as a partial replacement for lucerne on dry-matter ...

EFFECTS OF PROCESSING ON THE NUTRITIONAL CONTENTS OF Enterolobium cyclocarpum SEEDS

Nigerian Journal of Animal Production
An experiment was carried out to determine the effects of different method of processing on the nutritional and anti-nutritional contents of Enterolobium cyclocarpum seeds. The seeds were harvested and processed into four different treatments: Tl (raw), T2 (boiled), T3 (Soaked), and T4(roasted).

Effect of ethanol extract from Enterolobium cyclocarpum fruit on Leghorn chickens exposed to Eimeria

Tropical Animal Health and Production
There are concerns about residues of drugs in meat that are used to prevent coccidiosis in chickens. Natural compounds are an alternative to drugs. Two studies investigated the effect of an extract of Enterolobium cyclocarpum fruits (EEC) in the feed of male Leghorn chickens exposed to Eimeria spp.

Vegetative Propagation ofEnterolobium cyclocarpum(Jacq.) Griseb. by Coppice Shoot Cuttings

Journal of Sustainable Forestry, 1998
Abstract Experiments were carried out to induce rooting on coppice shoot cuttings of Enterolobium cyclocarpum with the aid of auxins. Auxin treatments stimulated sprouting of cuttings in almost all seasons, but only cuttings prepared in January-March responded for rooting. Highest percentage (60) of rooting was obtained with IBA 100 ppm followed by 200

Effects Of Cutting Interval On The Feed Value Of Enterolobium Cyclocarpum

Nigerian Journal of Animal Production, 2015
The effects of cutting interval on the rumen DM degradation and CP and NDF contents of Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves was determined. The trees were cut every 6, 9 and 12 weeks at 50 cm above ground level. Leaf samples taken at the ends of the major and minor wet seasons were incubated for 3, 6, 12, 24, 72 and 96 hours in rumen-fistulated goats.
