Effects Of Cutting Interval On The Feed Value Of Enterolobium Cyclocarpum
The effects of cutting interval on the rumen DM degradation and CP and NDF contents of Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves was determined. The trees were cut every 6, 9 and 12 weeks at 50 cm above ground level. Leaf samples taken at the ends of the major and minor wet seasons were incubated for 3, 6, 12, 24, 72 and 96 hours in rumen-fistulated goats.

Cancer Chemopreventive Properties of Sulfated Enterolobium cyclocarpum Extract
Nutrition and Cancer, 2020Enterolobium cyclocarpum (EC) is an edible plant and a gum source for food industries. Its sulfated polysaccharide extract (SEC) was examined for cancer chemopreventive properties to estimate its anti-tumor activity. The modulation of carcinogen metabolism and the antioxidant activity revealed that SEC is a potent tumor anti-initiator since it ...

Micropropagation ofEnterolobium cyclocarpum(Jacq.) Griseb
Journal of Sustainable Forestry, 2007Abstract Shoot multiplication was achieved from cotyledon and hypocotyl segments of in vitro germinated seedlings of Enterolobium cyxclocarpum on Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with BA (0.5-2.0 mg/L) and IAA (0.1-0.3 mg/L). Among the different concentrations and combination tested, BA (1.0 mg/L) in combination with IAA (0.2 mg/L) stimulated ...

Enterolacaciamine as a potential O-GlcNAcase activator from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum
Fitoterapia, 2015Enterolacaciamine (1), a new potential O-GlcNAcase activator, along with three known triterpenoid saponins, concinnoside B (2), concinnoside D (3), and julibroside A3 (4) was isolated from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods (UV, MS, 1D and 2D NMR).

AbstractWe isolated nine microsatellite loci from the Guanacaste tree (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) and optimized them for future research on breeding populations of this species. Loci were screened across 53 individuals from one population and were shown to be variable with the number of alleles per locus ranging from five to 15.

The effect of isolation method on properties of parota (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) starch
Food Hydrocolloids, 2016Abstract The properties of starch from parota ( Enterolobium cyclocarpum ) isolated by three methods, sodium bisulfite (M1), distilled water (M2) and acid steeping (M3), were assessed. The properties studied included: proximal composition, physicochemical characteristics, morphology of starch granules, swelling power and solubility, fourier transform

Replacement of lucerne by Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves in the diet of growing goats
Animal Production Science, 2018Animal production in tropical regions is commonly limited by the low crude protein content and digestibility of pastures, particularly during the dry season. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of including Enterolobium cyclocarpum leaves (ECL) (0%, 15% and 30%) in diets as a partial replacement for lucerne on dry-matter ...

Chemical and 13C NMR studies of Enterolobium cyclocarpum gum and its degradation products
Phytochemistry, 1994A structural study of the gum exudate from Enterolobium cyclocarpum has been carried out using chemical methods and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The results reveal that the structure of this gum is essentially a beta-(1-->3)-galactan. Some galactoses are 6-O-linked and others also occur as terminal residues.
