Emulsifying and Suspending Properties of Enterolobium cyclocarpum Gum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background:The thermodynamic instability of emulsions and suspensions necessitate the incorporation of emulsifiers and suspending agents respectively, in order to stabilize the formulations and ensure administration of accurate doses. Objective:Enterolobium cyclocarpum gum was characterized and evaluated for its emulsifying and suspending properties in ...

Effect of ethanol extract from Enterolobium cyclocarpum fruit on Leghorn chickens exposed to Eimeria

Tropical Animal Health and Production
There are concerns about residues of drugs in meat that are used to prevent coccidiosis in chickens. Natural compounds are an alternative to drugs. Two studies investigated the effect of an extract of Enterolobium cyclocarpum fruits (EEC) in the feed of male Leghorn chickens exposed to Eimeria spp.

Cancer Chemopreventive Properties of Sulfated Enterolobium cyclocarpum Extract

Nutrition and Cancer, 2020
Enterolobium cyclocarpum (EC) is an edible plant and a gum source for food industries. Its sulfated polysaccharide extract (SEC) was examined for cancer chemopreventive properties to estimate its anti-tumor activity. The modulation of carcinogen metabolism and the antioxidant activity revealed that SEC is a potent tumor anti-initiator since it ...

Micropropagation ofEnterolobium cyclocarpum(Jacq.) Griseb

Journal of Sustainable Forestry, 2007
Abstract Shoot multiplication was achieved from cotyledon and hypocotyl segments of in vitro germinated seedlings of Enterolobium cyxclocarpum on Murashige and Skoog's medium supplemented with BA (0.5-2.0 mg/L) and IAA (0.1-0.3 mg/L). Among the different concentrations and combination tested, BA (1.0 mg/L) in combination with IAA (0.2 mg/L) stimulated ...

Antiproliferative mechanism of the methanolic extract of Enterolobium cyclocarpum (Jacq.) Griseb. (Fabaceae)

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2015
Enterolobium cyclocarpum (Jacq.) Griseb. is a tropical tree that has folkloric implications against many ailments and diseases including cancer. To explore the ethnopharmacological claims against cancer, the cytotoxicity of the methanolic extract of the leaves, was investigated using the brine shrimp lethality assay, MTT assay using cervical (HeLa) and ...

Enterolacaciamine as a potential O-GlcNAcase activator from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Fitoterapia, 2015
Enterolacaciamine (1), a new potential O-GlcNAcase activator, along with three known triterpenoid saponins, concinnoside B (2), concinnoside D (3), and julibroside A3 (4) was isolated from the leaves of Enterolobium cyclocarpum. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods (UV, MS, 1D and 2D NMR).

Isolation and characterization of microsatellite loci in the Guanacaste tree, Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Molecular Ecology Resources, 2008
AbstractWe isolated nine microsatellite loci from the Guanacaste tree (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) and optimized them for future research on breeding populations of this species. Loci were screened across 53 individuals from one population and were shown to be variable with the number of alleles per locus ranging from five to 15.
