Expression and bioactivity analysis of staphylococcal enterotoxin G and staphylococcal enterotoxin I

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2013
The filtrate of Staphylococcus aureus culture, named staphylococcal enterotoxin C injection, has been used for 10 years in China. SEC2 has been claimed to be the only staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) without certifiable evidence. To present an efficient procedure for the expression and purification of recombinant proteins SEG and SEI, from S. aureus. In

Serovar‐Specific Antimicrobial Resistance and Virulence Profiles of Salmonella enterica From Poultry in Bangladesh

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 5, October 2025.
This study provides an updated assessment of Salmonella enterica in poultry farms across Bangladesh, revealing a 14.4% prevalence with diverse serovars, virulence determinants, and antimicrobial resistance patterns. The findings highlight farm‐level poultry as a reservoir of resistant and potentially pathogenic Salmonella, underscoring the risks to ...

Use of an indirect haemagglutination test, for the detection of Clostridium perfringens type A enterotoxin

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1991
An indirect haemagglutination (IH) test is described for the detection of Clostridium perfringens type A enterotoxin, produced by strains isolated from human cases of food poisoning and from contaminated food.

Importance of heat-stable enterotoxin B in the induction of early immune responses in piglets after infection with enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) strains that produce heat-stable (STa, STb) and/or heat-labile (LT) enterotoxins are an important cause of post-weaning diarrhea in piglets [1]. However, the relative importance of the different enterotoxins in the

Production of Enterotoxin by a Staphylococcus aureus Strain that Produces Three Identifiable Enterotoxins

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 1982
Growth and enterotoxin production by Staphylococcus aureus strain FRI-996, producer of enterotoxins A, B and D, were determined over a 24-h period. All of the enterotoxins were detectable, when the count was around 107 colony forming units per ml, at the 1 ng/ml level for enterotoxins B and D and at the 4 ng/ml level for enterotoxin A.
