Vapour pressures and enthalpies of vaporisation of N‑alkyl acetamides

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2019
© 2019 Elsevier B.V. Molar enthalpies of vaporisation/sublimation of n-alkyl acetamides: N‑methyl‑acetamide, N‑ethyl‑acetamide, N‑n‑propyl‑acetamide, and N‑tert‑butyl‑acetamide were obtained from the temperature dependence of the vapour pressures measured using the transpiration method.

Methods for calculating solvent enthalpy of vaporisation values by a molecular modelling technique — effect of charge and method

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 2000
Abstract The enthalpy of vaporisation (Δ H vap ) of the solvents methane, ethane, butane, chloromethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, carbon disulphide, cyclohexane, and ethyl acetate have been calculated by a free space molecular modelling method.

A general strategy for the experimental study of the thermochemistry of protic ionic liquids: enthalpy of formation and vaporisation of 1-methylimidazolium ethanoate

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012
A general strategy to determine enthalpies of formation of protic ionic liquids, based solely on enthalpy of solution measurements, was conceived and tested for 1-methylimidazolium ethanoate, leading to Δ(f)H°(m){[Hmim][O(2)CCH(3)], 1} = -(425.7 ± 1.2) kJ mol(-1).

Vapour pressures and enthalpies of vaporisation of N,N-di-alkyl-acetamides

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2019
© 2019 Elsevier B.V. Molar enthalpies of vaporisation of N,N-di-alkyl-acetamides (alkyl = methyl, ethyl, n-butyl, and n-hexyl) were obtained from the temperature dependence of the vapour pressure measured using the transpiration method. A large number of primary experimental results on temperature dependencies of vapour pressures have been collected ...

A general structure-property relationship to predict the enthalpy of vaporisation at ambient temperatures

SAR and QSAR in Environmental Research, 2007
The vapour pressure is the most important property of an anthropogenic organic compound in determining its partitioning between the atmosphere and the other environmental media. The enthalpy of vaporisation quantifies the temperature dependence of the vapour pressure and its value around 298 K is needed for environmental modelling.

Determination of the vaporisation enthalpies and estimation of the polarity for 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium propionate {[C mim][Pro](n= 2, 3)} ionic liquids

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2014
Abstract Two propionic acid ionic liquids (PrAILs) [C n mim][Pro] ( n  = 2, 3) (1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium propionate) were prepared by the neutralisation method and characterised by 1 H NMR spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The values of vaporisation enthalpies, Δ vap H m o , for two PrAILs [C n

The enthalpies of vaporisation of ionic liquids: new measurements and predictions

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012
The enthalpies of vaporisation, Δ(vap)H(298), of seven ionic liquids (ILs) (four imidazoliums, a pyridinium, a phosphonium and an isouronium) have been determined by temperature programmed desorption using line of sight mass spectrometry. They were: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(pentafluoroethyl)phosphinate, [C(2)C(1)Im][PO(2)(C(2)F(5))(2)]; 1-butyl ...

Determination of the vaporisation enthalpies for amino acid ionic liquids [C mim][Ala](n = 5, 6) and applications of the molar surface Gibbs energy

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2020
Abstract Amino acid ionic liquids (ILs) 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium alanine [Cnmim][Ala] (n = 5,6) were prepared and characterized. The enthalpy of vaporisation at the average temperature, Δ 1 g H m o (Tav), for the two ILs were determined by means of isothermogravimetrical analysis, and in terms of Δ 1 g C p , m o

Enthalpies of fusion, vaporisation and sublimation of crown ethers determined by thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry

Thermochimica Acta, 2017
Abstract The phase change enthalpies of 18-crown-6 ether (18C6), dibenzo-18-crown-6 ether (DB18C6), dibenzo-24-crown-8 ether (DB24C8) and dibenzo-30-crown-10 ether (DB30C10), which are chemical structures that are of interest in supramolecular chemistry, were determined by thermogravimetry (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The vapour
