Transport of bromide in an entisol and its dissipation in a surficial aquifer*

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 1999
Abstract Contamination of groundwater by nitrate is an important environmental concern in some parts of the citrus growing region in Florida. Although some of the test wells with high levels of nitrate in the surficial aquifer are in close proximity to citrus groves, there is no evidence to substantiate that the nitrate contamination of groundwater ...

Phosphorus Availability in Entisols, Inceptisols, and Mollisols of Iraqi Kurdistan

Soil Science, 2019
In this work, we investigated phosphorus (P) availability of three soil orders (Entisols, Inceptisols, and Mollisols) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Addition of P fertilizers causes chemical and physical fixation of P due to the high amounts of calcium carbonate often present in the soils of this region.

Inorganic phosphorus forms in some entisols and aridisols of Egypt

Geoderma, 2007
Effective soil phosphorus (P) management from both environmental and agronomic point of view requires the knowledge of P forms determining its availability. This studyexaminedtheinorganicPformsofrepresentativeEgyptiansoilsandinvestigatedtheir relationshiptoother soilproperties.Intwentytwo samples of Entisols and Aridisols collected from different ...

Biomass Distribution and Nitrogen-15 Partitioning in Citrus Trees on a Sandy Entisol

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 2003
The area under citrus production in Florida is 332 000 ha, with a production of 10 to 12 million metric tonnes of fruit annually. Nutrient management recommendations are needed to increase N uptake efficiency and to minimize nitrate leaching below the root zone. The objectives of this study were (i) to evaluate biomass distribution

Nature of Acidity in Alfisols, Entisols and Inceptisols in Relation to Soil Properties

Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 2017
Twenty acid soils of West Bengal, India, representing Alfisols, Entisols and Inceptisols orders, were studied to characterize their acidity in relation to physicochemical properties.

Dispersive Erosion and Entisol‐Panspot Genesis in Sodium‐Affected Landscapes

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1991
Abstract In Natriboroll complexes, commonly barren, eroded Entisol or remnant Natriboroll areas occur that are devoid of vegetation. This study investigates the genesis, stratigraphy, and characteristics of panspots.

PHOSPHORUS FRACTIONS IN ALFISOLS AND ENTISOLS AND THEIR RELATION TO SOIL PROPERTIES

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1998
Eight soil series differing in soil characteristics were analysed for discrete soil P fractions and their relationships established. Saloid P constituted only 0.5 to 0.6 per cent of the total P content of the Alfisols and Entisols. Clay content negatively correlated with saloid-P (-0.661**).
