Visual entity linking

2017 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2017
Entity linking is the task of identifying entities like people and places in textual data and linking them to corresponding entities in a knowledge base. In this paper we solve a visual equivalent of this task called visual entity linking. The goal is to link regions of images to corresponding entities in knowledge bases.

Towards better entity linking

Frontiers of Computer Science, 2021
As one of the most important components in knowledge graph construction, entity linking has been drawing more and more attention in the last decade. In this paper, we propose two improvements towards better entity linking. On one hand, we propose a simple but effective coarse-to-fine unsupervised knowledge base(KB) extraction approach to improve the ...

From linked data to linked entities

Proceedings of the 21st International Conference on World Wide Web, 2012
Entities have been deserved special attention in the latest years, however their identification is still troublesome. Existing approaches exploit ad hoc services or centralized architectures. In this paper we present a novel approach to recognize naturally emerging entity identifiers built on top of Linked Data concepts and protocols.

Visual Entity Linking

2016
Entity Recognition is used in natural language processing for text-based information retrieval and semantic search. Entity recognition can also be useful for image retrieval. Linking image regions and knowledge-base entities can enable computers to better understand images.

Entity linking and retrieval

Proceedings of the 36th international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2013
This full-day tutorial presents a comprehensive introduction to entity linking and retrieval. Part I provides a detailed overview of entity linking: identifying and disambiguating entity occurrences in unstructured text. Part II focuses on entity retrieval, by first considering scenarios where explicit representations of entities are available, and ...

Language Independent Entity Linking

2018 5th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing and Intelligence Systems (CCIS), 2018
Entity linking is the task of determining the identity of entities mentioned in text with entities in an existed database. Most previous Entity Linking research required training data with applied on a target language, while training data may be costing on some languages. In the paper, we purposed a language independent entity linking system, which can

ELES: Combining Entity Linking and Entity Summarization

2016
The automatic annotation of textual content with entities from a knowledge base is a well established field. Applications, such as DBpedia Spotlight and GATE enable to identify and disambiguate entities of text at high levels of accuracy. The output of such systems can be used in many different ways.

Entity Linking in Queries

Proceedings of the 2015 International Conference on The Theory of Information Retrieval, 2015
Annotating queries with entities is one of the core problem areas in query understanding. While seeming similar, the task of entity linking in queries is different from entity linking in documents and requires a methodological departure due to the inherent ambiguity of queries.
