Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

La varicelle périnatale: risques et prise en charge fétale et néonatale

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2017
La survenue d'une varicelle clinique en cours de grossesse est rare, pouvant entrainer des risques maternels et fétaux. La varicelle maternelle périnatale peut entrainer une varicelle néonatale potentiellement grave, notamment en cas d'éruptions ...

Flow characteristics and regime transitions in fluidization systems of Group C+ particles

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Fine and ultrafine particles are attractive for fluidized bed reactors because their high surface area benefits catalytic processes, but their cohesive nature complicates regime characterization. Nanoparticle modulation improves the flowability of Group C powders, yet their bubbling to turbulent transition remains unclear.

System Identification of Robotic Fish Swimming Reveals Roles of Reactive and Resistive Fluid Force in Two Distinct Swimming Gaits

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
System identification and particle image velocimetry reveal how a modular robotic fish changes thrust physics across gaits. A traveling‐wave, fish‐like motion draws thrust from resistive drag, while a resonant standing‐wave motion is driven by reactive pressure.

Transient Pressure Surges Due to Pipe Movement in an Oil Well Surpressions transitoires dues au mouvement des colonnes de tubes dans les puits.

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006
A pressure surge which could cause lost circulation, results from running a stand of drill pipe or a joint of casing into a hole. Similarly, a negative pressure surge, which could cause a blowout, results from pulling pipe from a hole.

Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.
