Latina Entrepreneurship [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2009
We utilize individual panel data from the 1996 and 2001 Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP) to analyze the relative success of self-employed female Hispanics. To allow for a meaningful comparison of earnings between self-employed and wage/salary employed women, we generate different earnings measures addressing the role of business equity.

Engineered Interface and Spatial Arrangement of Inorganic Components for Dendrite‐Free Li Anodes in Carbonate‐Based Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solid‐state ion exchange strategy constructs dentrimental Li2CO3 into a high‐modulus, high‐surface‐energy interface to enable dendrite‐free deposition of Li metal anode in the harsh carbonate‐based electrolyte. Abstract The practical application of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) in carbonate‐based electrolytes is hindered by uncontrolled lithium (Li)

Entrepreneurship and welfare [PDF]

open access: yesSmall Business Economics, 2009
Here, I examine returns to entrepreneurship using a standard measure of welfare, the per-capita consumption expenditure. This analysis, using quantile regressions, reveals the existence of a welfare hierarchy in occupations. The results suggest that, across the welfare distribution, entrepreneurs who employ others have the highest returns in terms of ...

Precision Photothermal Therapy at Mild Temperature: NIR‐II Imaging‐Guided, H2O2‐Responsive Stealth Nanobomb

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The new generation nanobomb, termed the stealth nanobomb, is fabricated through self‐assembly using a polymeric carbon monoxide carrier (PLGA(CO)), small molecule near‐infrared‐active agents (2TT‐OC46B), and phospholipid polyethylene glycol (DSPE‐mPEG2000). The stealth nanobomb can circulate in the bloodstream and specifically target pancreatic cancer,

Intrapreneurship or entrepreneurship? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Business Venturing, 2009
Abstract I explore the factors that determine whether new business opportunities are exploited by starting a new venture for an employer (‘nascent intrapreneurship’) or independently (‘nascent entrepreneurship’). Analysis of a nationally representative sample of American adults gathered in 2005–06 uncovers systematic differences between the drivers ...

Unveiling Energy Loss Mechanisms to Empower Ternary Organic Solar Cells with over 20% Efficiency: A Systematic Oligomeric Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study designs modular oligomeric donors (5BDD, 5BDD‐F, 5BDT‐F, 5BDT‐Cl) for ternary OSCs, achieving PCEs >20%. By systematically tuning energy levels, we reveal material compatibility, not HOMO alignment, drive VOC enhancement, suppress ACQ and reduce energy loss, offering new design principles for high‐efficiency OSCs.
