Several Basic Elements of Entropic Statistics
Entropy, 2023 Inspired by the development in modern data science, a shift is increasingly visible in the foundation of statistical inference, away from a real space, where random variables reside, toward a nonmetrized and nonordinal alphabet, where more general random

Cognitive Vigilance Enhancement Using Audio Stimulation of Pure Tone at 250 Hz
IEEE Access, 2021 In this paper, we propose a novel vigilance enhancement method based on audio stimulation of pure tone at 250 Hz. We induced two different levels of vigilance state; vigilance decrement (VD) and vigilance enhancement (VE).

Entropy, 2021 In this article, we introduce a new three-parameter distribution called the extended inverse-Gompertz (EIGo) distribution. The implementation of three parameters provides a good reconstruction for some applications.

The Exponentiated Power Alpha Index Generalized Family of Distributions: Properties and Applications
Mathematics, 2023 The study of hydrological characteristics has a vital role in designing, planning, and managing water resources. The selection of appropriate probability distributions and methods of estimations are basic elements in hydrology analyses.

Channel-Supermodular Entropies: Order Theory and an Application to Query Anonymization
Entropy, 2021 This work introduces channel-supermodular entropies, a subset of quasi-concave entropies. Channel-supermodularity is a property shared by some of the most commonly used entropies in the literature, including Arimoto–Rényi conditional entropies (which ...

Towards a Universal Measure of Complexity
Entropy, 2020 Recently, it has been argued that entropy can be a direct measure of complexity, where the smaller value of entropy indicates lower system complexity, while its larger value indicates higher system complexity. We dispute this view and propose a universal

Entropic Forms and Related Algebras
Entropy, 2013 Starting from a very general trace-form entropy, we introduce a pair of algebraic structures endowed by a generalized sum and a generalized product. These algebras form, respectively, two Abelian fields in the realm of the complex numbers isomorphic each

Open-Circuit Fault Detection and Location in AC-DC-AC Converters Based on Entropy Analysis
Energies, 2023 Inverters and converters contain more and more power electronics switches which may subsequently affect their reliability. Therefore, fault detection and location are essential to improve their reliability and to ensure continuous operation.

A new three parameter Fréchet model with mathematical properties and applications
Journal of Taibah University for Science, 2020 A new three-parameter extension of the Fréchet model is proposed and studied. Some of its statistical properties are derived. A simple type Copula-based construction via Morgenstern family and via Clayton copula is used to derive many bivariate and ...
