Stereochemical Control in the Matteson Reaction

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 40, 27 October 2026.
The Matteson homologation is a highly versatile method for the stereoselective insertion of carbenoids into boronic esters. Through iterative application of the process, complex chiral molecules can be synthesized. The stereoselectivity of the reaction is determined by a chiral diol incorporated in the boronic ester.

Real‐World Use of Avacopan in Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody–Associated Vasculitis: Early and Long‐Term Clinical, Renal, and Patient‐Reported Outcomes in an Italian Rheumatology–Nephrology Network

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2026.
Objective Complement activation, particularly through the C5a–C5a receptor axis, plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody–associated vasculitis (AAV) and may represent an important therapeutic target. Avacopan, an oral C5a receptor antagonist, was the first therapy targeting this pathway to enter in clinical ...

Chiral Nanoparticles Suppress Inflammatory Infiltration to Promote Extracellular Matrix Remodeling for Ectopia Lentis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 58, 19 October 2026.
L‐cysteine‐configured chiral polyurethane nanoparticles suppress ocular inflammation and reduce extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation in ectopia lentis by regulating macrophages polarization and inhibiting nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathway. By promoting zonular fiber‐associated protein restoration and tissue repair, this minimally invasive ...

Temperature‐Controlled Radiofrequency for Severe Nasal Airway Obstruction: A Non‐Inferiority Comparison With Surgical Intervention

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 1073-1083, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Temperature‐controlled radiofrequency (TCRF), septoplasty (ST) with turbinate reduction, and functional rhinoplasty (FR) are treatment options for nasal airway obstruction (NAO) and nasal valve dysfunction (NVD), but no direct comparison of these procedures has been performed. Methods This prospective, open‐label, non‐inferiority (

Survival Outcomes of Post‐Induction Treatment Strategies in Patients With Partial Response Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Propensity Score‐Weighted Analysis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Most patients with hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPSCC) achieve partial response (PR) after induction chemotherapy. However, optimal post‐induction management remains controversial. We compared survival outcomes of post‐induction strategies for PR‐HPSCC, with emphasis on advanced post‐induction tumor stage (ycT) using ...
