Entropy as a Measure of Puzzle Difficulty
Evaluating and ranking the difficulty and enjoyment of puzzles is important in game design. Typically, such rankings are constructed manually for each specific game, which can be time consuming, subject to designer bias, and requires extensive play testing.

A New Development of Entropy and Similarity Measures in Temporal Complex Neutrosophic Environments for Tourist Destination Selection [PDF]
In human existence, making decisions is a common event. Various techniques have been devised to tackle decision-making troubles in practical situations.

Jensen–Inaccuracy Information Measure
The purpose of the paper is to introduce the Jensen–inaccuracy measure and examine its properties. Furthermore, some results on the connections between the inaccuracy and Jensen–inaccuracy measures and some other well-known information measures are ...

Transfer entropy - a model-free measure of effective connectivity for the neurosciences [PDF]
Understanding causal relationships, or effective connectivity, between parts of the brain is of utmost importance because a large part of the brain’s activity is thought to be internally generated and, hence, quantifying stimulus response relationships ...

IN-cross Entropy Based MAGDM Strategy under Interval Neutrosophic Set Environment [PDF]
Cross entropy measure is one of the best way to calculate the divergence of any variable from the priori one variable. We define a new cross entropy measure under interval neutrosophic set (INS) environment, which we call IN-cross entropy measure and ...

An Alternative to Entropy in the Measurement of Information [PDF]
Entropy has been the main tool in the analysis of the concept of information since information theory was conceived in the work of Shannon more than fifty years ago. There were some attempts to find more general measure of information, but their outcomes were more of formal, theoretical interest, and neither has provided better insight into the nature ...

The volume entropy of a surface decreases along the Ricci flow [PDF]
The volume entropy, h(g), of a compact Riemannian manifold (M,g) measures the growth rate of the volume of a ball of radius R in its universal cover.

On the Entropy of Rectifiable and Stratified Measures
We summarize some results of geometric measure theory concerning rectifiable sets and measures. Combined with the entropic chain rule for disintegrations (Vigneaux, 2021), they account for some properties of the entropy of rectifiable measures with respect to the Hausdorff measure first studied by (Koliander et al., 2016).

Reflected entropy: Not a correlation measure
By explicit counterexample, we show that the "reflected entropy" defined by Dutta and Faulkner is not monotonically decreasing under partial trace, and so is not a measure of physical correlations. In fact, our counterexamples show that none of the Rényi reflected entropies $S_{R}^{(α)}$ for $0 < α< 2$ is a correlation measure; the usual ...

On the Measure Entropy of Additive Cellular Automata f∞
We show that for an additive one-dimensional cellular automata f∞ on space of all doubly infinitive sequences with values in a finite set S = {0, 1, 2, ..., r-1}, determined by an additive automaton rule [equation] (mod r), and a f∞-invariant ...
